History

The Sangha is established in the year 1980 (on 19/11/1980, Devala Maharshi Jayanthi day) under the adage "Hatthira Banni, Anukoolavaguvudhu". Late Sri P S Gaddi was the Founder President and the Sangha commemorated its Silver Jubilee celebrations in 2005.


The Sangha was formed by uniting of the Devanga Community people from North Karnataka, (known for its Cultural uniqueness) and settled in and around Bengaluru Districts. Presently Sangha has more than 500+ registered members.


Our Sangha members celebrate collectively the festivals like Vijayadashami(Exchange of Shami), Makara Sankranti (Distribution of Ellu-Bella). They also conduct and participate in Annual Sports Meet, Cultural Programmes, Picnics, Sight Seeing Tours etc. Our Sangha also celebrates Devala Maharshi Jayanthi every year on grand scale.

Banashankari Devanga Mahila Sangha, a wing of Our Sangha, is actively participating in every programme of Sangha, apart from performing Banashankari Pooja on monthly basis.

The Sangha maintains a data base on Matrimonial matters and conducts Vadhoo Varar Samavesha periodically, for the benefit of the community members.

Youth wing of Sangha has plans to extend its helping hand in the activities of the Sangha for the benefit of younger generation in the field of Career Development, seeking jobs,etc.

Our Sangha honours the meritorious students annually at the level of SSLC, PUC-II, Graduation level etc.
